Oklahoma Licensees - *Important* - Per Change Coming in Oklahoma Rules - Your Use of Social Networking Sites

ATTENTION AGENTS IN OUR 4 STATE AREA!!!

Anyone with an Oklahoma license needs to check on your sites to make sure you are in compliance.  Even if you don't have an Oklahoma license, you should make sure the information is available for the states where you are licensed.

As Judi stated, having the information in your signature should be enough.

Oklahoma Licensees - Important - Per Change Coming in Oklahoma Rules - Your Use of Social Networking Sites

Oklahoma Real Estate Licensee Rules that were adopted on  3-10-2010 (yes only 11 days ago) by The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission include some changes that may affect your information on Active Rain, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

These Permanent Rules are Effective July 1, 2010.

The following is being added to the rules:

605:10-9-4. Advertising
(a) Requirements and prohibitions.
(7)
Social networking. A licensee who is engaged in licensed activities through social networking mediums must indicate their license status and include their broker’s reference as required elsewhere in this rule.

Do your Active Rain blogs feed into your twitter account?  Do you upload your listings into your facebook account, your twitter account, or other social networking sites?
IF SO - Do you have your license status on your account?  Does it have the name of your broker on your account?

If not, you need to update your profiles, etc.

Remember that your blog and your social networking sites are commercial sites, used to advertise you, your company, and your listings... any rules of advertising that your state has should be jumping into your mind right now.

There are also other new rule additions, changes, etc. on that date. It's always a good idea to be aware of changes.
